Blue
Mountains Athletics Club athletes took
to the track for the Athletics NSW State
Relay Championships on the weekend of November
17th and 18th, 2007.
The
Club claimed the gold medal in the under
18 4x1500m. Lead off by Natalie Sharpe,
the team held second place at the first
changeover. Second placed Hollie Emery
then took the race away from both the Kembla ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams
with minimal effort. A PB third leg by
Morgan Moloney and a fine anchor leg from
Celia Sullohern brought the team home to
first place in 20.05.85.
Silver
medal went to the 4x1500m Open female Walk.
The team of Vanessa Ebejer, Charlene Ebejer,
Maryanne Shaw and Chloe Jones took second
place in a time of 31.59.48 minutes. The
team finished just eight seconds behind
winners, Blacktown.
In
the 4x1500m under 14 female Walk, the team
of Tabitha Porley, Candice Porley, Katrina
Shaw and Taylor Wild took the bronze medal
in the time of 36.42.01. Nepean ‘A’ and ‘B’ took
the first two places in this event.
Open
4x800m action saw a fine fifth place to
the team of David Parkes, Earl O’Brien,
Edward O’Brien and James Perrett
in a time of 8.32.14. On the Saturday,
the team of Adam Condie, Earl O’Brien,
Edward O’Brien and James Perrett
took fifth place in the Open 4x1500m with
a time of 17.26.53. This race will be remembered
for the Randwick Botany team breaking the
Australian record for the 4x1500m with
a superb time of 15.17.91.
The
under 14 team of Taylor Wild, Jemima Herig
Parsons, Kayley Hooper and Morgan Moloney
came home in seventh place in 10.44.57.
The
team of David Parkes, Edward O’Brien,
Earl O’Brien and James Perrett too
10th place in the 200m/200m/400m/800m medley
relay in 3.59.46.
The
team for the record was Celia Sullohern,
Morgan Moloney, Hollie Emery, Natalie Sharpe,
James Perrett, Edward O’Brien, Earl
O’Brien, David Parkes, Vanessa Ebejer,
Charlene Ebejer, Chloe Jones, Maryanne
Shaw, Katrina Shaw, Taylor Wild, Tabitha
Porley, Candice Porley, Kayley Hooper and
Jemima Herig Parsons.
